This photo shows how the new floor patch panel lays on the 1/2 inch flange you made in the old floor.

The top is completely welded but
the bottom requires only
intermittent welds.

This creates a strong water-proof joint.

Here the patch panel has been welded solid and the welds ground smooth.

In this photo the repaired area has been media-blasted clean and painted with POR-15 and POR Topcoat.

Notice how the bead in the new patch matches the old floor and the proper size hole has been punched to access the body mount bolt area.
(It is best to punch these holes rather than use a large drill bit.)
